GYM SAFETY

MEMBERS SAFETY IS IMPORTANT TO US

CABLE MACHINE

1. Members should not stand directly under any moving parts on the cable machine, this includes the locking arms.

2. Stand away from the machine when using the cables and attachments.

3. Members should lower the weights slowly back to the start and not allow the stacks to be released from height.

4. Should you notice any defects please report immediately to the receptionist at the gym.

MACHINE LOCKS

1. Members should ensure that once the height has been adjusted the pin must be fully secured and locked before using the cable machine.

2. You should always test that the mechanism is fully locked

before starting your exercise.

HACK SQUAT

1. Members should not use the Hack Squat machine to perform calf raises this machine is not for this purpose.

2. Doing calf raises on the Hack Squat increases the risk of having an accident, the platform is designed to have both your entire feet placed firmly on the platform.

3. We have machines that are designed specifically for calf raises and can be used safely without risk of injury.

SMITH MACHINE

1. Members should never use the Smith Machine as a vertical Leg Press.

2. This is extremely dangerous and puts the member at risk of a serious accident.

3. We have vertical Leg Press machines which are designed for this specific exercise, please use the right equipment should you wish to perform a vertical leg press exercise.

LEG PRESS

1. Members should not use the Leg Press machine to perform calf raises this machine is not for this purpose.

2. Doing calf raises on the Leg Press increases the risk of having an accident, the platform is designed to have both feet placed entirely and firmly on the platform.

3. We have machines that are designed specifically for calf raises and can be used safely without risk of injury.

DUMBBELLS

1. Members should not drop dumbbells from any height, this could result in dumbbells bouncing or rolling with the possibility of hitting or landing on other members.

2. Always use safe practice and lower the weights in a controlled manner back to the starting position.

3. Always return weights / dumbbells to the racks when finished.

TREADMILL

1. Members should always check that the treadmill is switched off before standing on the belt.

2. Should the belt still be running on an unoccupied treadmill please let reception know so that CCTV can be checked to see which member has left it running and we can make this member aware of the dangers they are putting on others.

3. Please report to reception any faults with any of the cardio equipment so that we can repair or rectify asap.
